hereafter is other parts of the town. I propose therefore to give the hawkers in this locality, ten days' notice that they must remove. If they remove into the Canton Bazaar, or other side streets inhabited only by Chinese and not thoroughfares, I would not interfere with them at present, unless the residents of these streets complain of the nuisance caused thereby. District Officers have been instructed to take action accordingly.
6. The workmen employed in the Dock Yard referred to by Captain Reane as getting their meals from these hawkers would have only a few further steps to go to the Canton Bazaar. Inform Registrar General, Captain Superintendent of Police, and Surveyor General.
